Almost Baby Bliss 

Our "Almost Baby Bliss" is written by me, Yvonne Holland.

Gregg and I have been together for over 10 years. I have had endometriosis since I can remember. As a result, I had several surgeries and medications to cope with pain and discomfort. My last surgery was a laparoscopy, hysterscope, and a d & c in 2006.  After, the surgery and still under anesthesia, the doctor woke me and said that we needed to discuss a hysterectomy, as he felt my symptoms would only get worse. I was 32 years old then. It was then that I had given up hope on having children.

In August of 2008, I started to not feel well. Gregg and I went to an art show and out to dinner. I could barely eat my dinner that day. It also dawned on me that I was late for my monthly. The next day without saying anything to Gregg, I went to the pharmacy and bought a pregnancy test.  I came home and took the test and just about had a heart attack as the positive results showed up as pregnant. I went out to Gregg's shop crying and hysterical in disbelief. I sobbed when I told Gregg, we were pregnant. And, God help us I was so scared, not to be pregnant, but the years of medical problems that I had, had made me so nervous.

However, being pregnant was the best I had ever felt. It took all the monthly changes, pain, and not feeling good away. 

Our first child, Jacob Ryan Palm, was born a stillbirth March 25, 2009. The Memory Garden is a small garden located at Huron Valley Hospital in Commerce, MI, where Jacob is remembered with all of his unforgotten angel forever baby friends. 

 

This video is in honor of our son, Jacob. May his short life be a warning sign to first time Mom's. A healthy pregnancy can still go wrong.
